Music Artist Script
Script
Scene 1:
-Camera fades in-
-Luke is listening to music through his headphones (which can be heard with a filter to make it sound like it is actually coming through headphones) as he is walking home from college-
-He walks into his house and procedes to go to his room-
-Luke logs on to his computer and starts to watch some videos online-
-He finds a video online which shows a tutorial on how to (illegally) download this software for free-
-He leaves his computer whilst he waits for the software to download-
-Camera fades out-
-Camera fades back in-
Luke - (Excited, to himself.) "Alright, time to get started!"
-Time lapse or fast edit of Luke learning the software and making a song-
Luke - (Mumbles under his breath) "Now lets put this up online."
-Luke posts the track online and then looks at the time on his computer-
-(Clock displays that it is late) Luke sees the clock in shock because of how late it is-
-Luke goes to bed (It is a school night)-
-Lukes head hits the pillow, as it hits it transitions to the next scene-
-SCENE ENDS-
Scene : 2
-School bell rings-
-Luke is now in college and is walking to his lesson-
-Lukes phone rings and he answers-
Luke - "Hello?"
Record Producer - "Hello, is this Mr Richards?"
Luke - "Yes, that is me. And who is this?"
Record Producer - "My name is Michael, i am from Sony Music Entertainment. . . I heard your song that you had posted online and thought it was something unique. I was wondering if you would like to be signed to our music label and produce some more tracks like this for us?"
Luke - (Amazed) "Is this a joke!"
Record Producer - "No, this isn't a joke."
Luke - "Can i call you back later?"
Record Producer - "Yes, that is no problem, have you got something that you could write my details down on?"
Luke - "Uh, yes. One second."
-Luke rummages around in his bag to find something to put the details down on-
-Luke writes down the record producers details on the paper-
Luke - "Ok thanks, i will contact you later if that is ok with you?"
Record Producer - "Ok, yes. That is no problem, speak to you soon Luke."
-Phone call ends-
-Luke walks off to his next lesson-
-SCENE ENDS-

Luke - "Ok thanks, i will contact you later if that is ok with you?"
Record Producer - "Ok, yes. That is no problem, speak to you soon Luke."
-Phone call ends-
-Luke walks off to his next lesson-
-SCENE ENDS-
Scene 3:
-Luke is in an office with the record producer, they begin to talk about having luke signed to the record label-
Record Producer - "So luke, how are you?"
Luke - "I am good thanks. How about yourself?"
Record Producer - "Not to bad, not to bad."
Record Producer - "So, your track was pretty impressive."
Luke - "Thank you."
Record Producer - "So lets get to the point, because it's simple really." (Pauses to take a breath) "We like your song, and we would love to have you on our label. So now its down to you. If you want to be on our label, then just say so and we will get the papers for you to sign." (Another breif pause) "I will give you a couple of minutes to decide. In the mean time, im going to go and get a drink. Would you like anything?"
Luke - "Can i just have a water please?"
Record Producer - "Sure, no problem."
-Record Producer leaves the office for a minute. Luke gathers his thoughts for a minute to decide whether he is certain he wants to do this-
-Slow shots of the room around him, with no sound apart from some slight ambience-
-The door opens again and the record producer walks back in and takes a seat-
Record Producer - (Exhales) "So." (Another breif pause) "What do you say? Would you like to be signed to the label or not?"
Luke - (Inhales and speaks confidently) "I have thought hard about this, and i think i am pretty sure on my decision."
-Quick close-up shot of the record producers face as he begins to smile-
Luke - "I am pretty sure that i would like to be signed on to the label sir."
Record Producer - (Enthusiastically) "Alright lad, im glad to hear that. Let me just quickly get the papers for you to sign."
Luke - "Ok. No problem."
-Record Producer gets back up and grabs the papers for luke to sign. He places them on to the desk, looks at Luke and then taps on the papers-
-Luke picks up a pen and starts to read through and sign off the papers-
-Luke finishes signing the papers-
Luke - "Ok, i think thats it."
Record Producer - "Alright, thank you very much luke. Thats it for today then. I will be in touch with you soon."
Luke - "Ok, thank you sir. See you later."
-Luke gets up out of his seat and proceeds to leave the office-
-SCENE ENDS-
Scene 4:
(Black screen) -Muffled ring tone goes off-
-Screen fades in as the mobile phone is pulled out of the pocket, camera follows the phone, not revealing the persons face until they actually start speaking-
-The character answers the phone-
Luke - "Hello?"
Record Producer - "Hello. This is Michael. I was just calling to let you know that your track will be appearing for the first time on our label on our summer hits album. It is going to be released at the start of next week, (Humourously) so you might want to turn your social media notifications off unless you want to buy a new phone. (Chuckles)
Luke - "Oh. Ok. Well thanks for letting me know. That is great to hear though, i am excited to see it up online."
Record Producer - "So luke, how are you?"
Luke - "I am good thanks. How about yourself?"
Record Producer - "Not to bad, not to bad."
Record Producer - "So, your track was pretty impressive."
Luke - "Thank you."
Record Producer - "So lets get to the point, because it's simple really." (Pauses to take a breath) "We like your song, and we would love to have you on our label. So now its down to you.
